GAIL RUTLAND-GILLARD
Gail Rutland-Gillard is a creative, bright and unique Australian artist with over 30 years experience. She has had a fantastic journey prior to becoming a full time artist which is very noticeable in her paintings.
Her artistic pursuit started as she travelled to Rome to work as a fashion illustrator for an international fashion house “Italia Modes”. On her return to Australia, she worked as a promotional artist for John Fairfax. Soon Gail’s remarkable artistic talents were demanded by Kerry Packer for Woman’s Day and Woman’s Weekly. She illustrated short stories and novels for Judy Nun and Jackie Collins.
Gail is always experimenting with different mediums to achieve just that perfect creative effect required and has developed her own original style – whether it is just the right colour for the right mood or an extra sparkle in her majestic gowns. Her fashion and illustration background is one of the main influences behind her fluid lines and curves in her artworks bringing a softness and light to her subjects. She paints a wide selection of landscape, floral, abstract and figurative works.
Her unbelievable one off pieces of art are full of so much interest, life and history. Gail has realised the importance of change, versatility and above all, originality. Each of her exceptional works portrays its own story but leaves room for personal interpretation.
Gail has won numerous awards and her paintings can be found in many private and corporate collections both in Australia and overseas. |
